Tribes open national high school rodeo in N.M.

The National High School Finals Rodeo is being held in Farmington, New Mexico, this week.

Representatives of the Navajo Nation, the Jicarilla Apache Nation and the Southern Ute Tribe gave opening blessings on Monday morning. Clinton Jim, of the Din College Board of Regents, and Navajo students performed a "Travelers Song" to welcome the rodeo participants.

Navajo students will sing the national anthem in Dine during Friday's evening rodeo.
