Lieberman says Bush starving Indian Health Service
Thursday, July 24, 2003

Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Joe Lieberman (D-Conn.) addressed the Navajo Nation council on Wednesday.

Lieberman spoke against President Bush's record on the economy but also talked about Indian issues. He said the Bush administration was "beginning to starve the Indian Health Care system," The Farmington Daily Times reported.

"When you look at Bush and his policy toward Indian Country, it's like his policy toward the rest of the world -it's one sided," he said. "The Navajo Nation has the same problems of the rest of America, only worse."
