Cowlitz Tribe seeks land-use agreement with county
Friday, September 5, 2003

The newly recognized Cowlitz Tribe of Washington has proposed a detailed land-use agreement with Clark County.

The agreement would govern how the tribe uses 152 acres of land it has asked the Bureau of Indian Affairs to take into trust. The tribe will share revenues if it ends up putting a casino on the property.

The tribe's recognition was finalized in 2000 by the Clinton administration.
