Ore. tribe hopes to reclaim old national guard base
Tuesday, September 9, 2003

The Confederated Tribes of the Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians are waiting to hear if they can reclaim a former Air National Guard base in Oregon.

The tribes asked the Bureau of Indian Affairs to obtain the surplus property. But the tribes say the BIA missed two deadlines, prompting the General Services Administration to seek other bidders.

A lawsuit put the tribes back in the game. The GSA is now deciding what to do next.
