Water jugs on Tohono O'odham Reservation slashed
Tuesday, September 23, 2003

A Tohono O'odham Nation man says he will not stop providing water to Mexican migrants who use the reservation to cross into the United States.

Mike Wilson, a former pastor, has put 3,000 gallon jugs on the reservation. Nearly a quarter of them have been slashed.

The tribe does not support Wilson's efforts. He says he has received threats for his work and had to move off the reservation. He also stepped down from his church, and his replacement said the tribe pressured the church.
