Wednesday, September 24, 2003

The Catawba Nation has offered to fund South Carolina State University with $2 million a year for tourism research.

The deal is contingent on the tribe gaining approval for a Class II facility off reservation. The tribe operates a bingo hall but isn't covered under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.
