Judge orders Bustamante to stop running ads

A judge in California ordered Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante (D) to stop running ads that were paid with donations from tribes.

Sacramento Superior Court Judge Loren McMaster last Monday had ordered Bustamante to return more than $2 million from tribes and more than $1 million from union interests. He said they broke campaign finance limits.

But after learning that all of the money was already spent on the ads, McMaster ordered Bustamante to pull them.
