Indian teen shot and killed by police officer

A police officer in Spokane, Washington, shot and killed a a 15-year-old member of the Coeur d'Alene Tribe who was hearing impaired.

Eagle Michael, 15, allegedly stole a case of a beer from a convenience store on Saturday. The police officer who responded to the call shot him once in the head after he threatened her with what turned out to be a BB gun.

The officer, identified by The Spokesman Review as Michele Madsen, has been placed on administrative leave.

Michael wore a hearing aid. He was attending the Idaho School for Deaf and Blind.
