Minn. university finally opens Indian center
Monday, October 6, 2003

The American Indian Resource Center at Bemidji State University in Minnesota had its official opening on Saturday.

The facility is a long-held dream of Indian students and Indian leaders. About 150 Native Americans attend the school, which is next to three Ojibwe reservations.

The center was financed through a $2 million state appropriation. The school raised an additional $400,000 due to cost overruns.
