Klamath Tribes hopeful for water and land agreement

The Klamath Tribes of Oregon, non-Indian farmers and the Bush administration are working on resolving long-running issues in the Klamath Basin.

The tribes have unquantified water rights in the basin. Before termination, the tribes owned 690,000 that is now part of a national forest.

Tribal leaders are hopeful for an agreement that will settle their water claims and restore some of the land base.
