North Dakota celebrates First Nation Day

North Dakota Gov. John Hoeven will welcome tribal leaders to the state capitol for the first-ever First Nations Day. As part a ceremonies today, tribal representatives will ride from the United Tribes Technical College to the capitol. They will participate in a grand entry before speeches from Hoeven, state lawmakers and tribal leaders. Hoeven issued a proclamation designating October 10 as First Nations Day and November as Native American Month. Lawmakers passed a bill to authorize the designation. Relevant Documents:
