Village doesn't support Stevens on funding issue

Port Graham Village does not support efforts by by Sen. Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) to shift federal justice funds to the state of Alaska, chief Pat Norman said.

Norman said Stevens was wrong to tell reporters that the tribe backed the rider. He said Stevens' comments have already prompted a concern that Port Graham is one of the so-called "phantom villages."
