Friday, October 31, 2003

Binge drinking is more prevalent on campuses with a high White and male student population, according to a new study.

Research being published in the American Journal of Public Health found that diversity was linked to heavy alcohol consumption among students. Based on data from 114 colleges, the present of women, African-American, Asian and other minorities lowered binge drinking overall.

According to other studies, White students have the highest rate of binge drinking, followed by Native students.
