Effort to recall Stillaguamish leaders stalled
Thursday, November 13, 2003

A petition to recall the leaders of the Stillaguamish Tribe of Washington has stalled.

Recall backers have enough signatures to move forward but were told they have to pay a $250 filing fee. But organizer Paki Martin said some tribal members don't appear to support the effort.

Martin and some members disapprove of plans for a casino and a smoke shop operating on tribal land but whose profits only go to the two tribal leaders.
