The Meskwaki Tribe of Iowa won't have its casino open by Thanksgiving as hoped, officials said.

The tribe says the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) will conduct an audit of the casino before it is allowed to re-open. The facility has been shut down since May, when an internal leadership dispute led NIGC chairman Phil Hogen to intervene.

The dispute has been resolved through a recall election that the Bureau of Indian Affairs has recognized. The losing faction, however, is contesting the results.
