Obituary: Juanita Blue Spruce, Pueblo advocate

Juanita Cruz Blue Spruce, a San Juan Pueblo woman, died recently, The Santa Fe New Mexican reports. She was 94.

Blue Spruce was historian for the North American Indian Women's Association. She promoted the role of Native women in Indian and non-Indian society.

Blue Spruce attended Santa Fe Indian School and Albuquerque Indian School, and later went to work at SFIS for 27 years.
