Police faulted for investigation into teen's death
Monday, January 12, 2004

The police department in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, was faulted for failing to investigate fully the death of a Native teenager in 1990.

Deputy chief Dan Wiks testified in the inquiry into Neil Stonechild's death. He said police didn't interview key witnesses, look for evidence and ended their investigation too quickly.

Stonechild was 17 when he was found frozen to death on the outskirts of town.
