Entrepreneur leaves funds for Utah Indian programs
Tuesday, February 10, 2004

An endowment set aside by the late Bill Daniels, a cable entrepreneur, will be used to increase educational opportunities for Indian students in Utah.

This year alone, the Daniels Fund will provide $1 million for a day-care center for college students in southern Utah, a self-esteem program for Indian youth and several programs to provide mentors and academic aid to Indian students throughout the state. The fund will provide 10 Indian students from the 2005 graduating class with college scholarships.

Daniels left money to benefit four states. In Utah, all the money is going to Indian programs.
