Lakota activist encourages positive portrayals

Lakota Harden, a Lakota activist and speaker, spent a week at the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign to talk about issues facing Native people. Harden said she grew up with discrimination. She attended a boarding school where her heritage was criticized, she said. Harden works to promote accurate and positive portrayals of Native Americans.
