The state of Kansas is moving forward on an highway project after finding no remains of Native Americans at a wetlands near Haskell Indian Nations University.

But an activist opposed to the expansion said the state did just a cursory review of the Baker Wetlands. Tribes weren't consulted either, according to Anna Wilson of the Wetlands Preservation Organization.

The project is being overseen by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which is consulting with tribes in preparation of an environmental impact study.
