THURSDAY, MAY 23, 2002 "I was both excited and dismayed to read about the retreat held last month by members of the Congressional Black, Hispanic and Asian Pacific Caucuses. It was exciting to see these groups surmount the differences that have historically bedeviled efforts at interracial coalition building.
