THURSDAY, MAY 23, 2002

A New Mexico man has changed his man about withdrawing a guilty plea for beating a Navajo teenager to death.

Shaun Murphy earlier this month asked for a full trial on first-degree murder charges the death of Fred Martinez Jr. But he has dropped the request and will accept a guilty plea for second-degree murder.

Martinez's body was found last June in Colorado.
