The casino owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation is being sued by a former worker for $13.8 million.

Yossef Chayoon said the tribe fired him in violation of the Family Medical Leave Act. He took time off to care for his ailing mother in Israel.

The lawsuit was filed in federal court. The tribe has asked for its dismissal, citing sovereign immunity.
