Dreams inspired Gerry Quotskuyva, a member of the Hopi Tribe of Arizona, to take up the carving of katsina dolls.

A $9.95 Wal-Mart special pocketknife keeps those dreams alive, he tells The Arizona Daily Star. Quotskuyva started carving in the mid-1990s and his doll start at $250.

Quotskuyva describes his style as a blend of the traditional "dancing" and modern "spiritual" styles of carving.
