Calif. pushes for oil protections too

Secretary of Interior Gale Norton said the Bush administration moved to block oil drilling in Florida in response to local opposition. Californians are wondering why their objections aren't being treated the same way.

The state has fought off-shore drilling for decades and filed a lawsuit to halt oil leases. A federal court ruled in California's favor but the Bush administration appealed.
