Man traces Choctaw heritage

MONDAY, JUNE 4, 2002 An Oklahoma man is trying to track down what happened to his uncle, a Choctaw man who served in World War II but seemingly vanished into thin air afterward. Charles Edward Veach was 1/8 Choctaw and was last recalled around 1950 or 1951, according to family history. But based on research his nephew, William A. Veitch, he continued to maintain some sort of family contact beyond that date and eventually died in 1996. Get the Story:
