The White House finally began turning over documents about its contacts with failed energy company Enron on Monday, five hours after the information was due to a Senate committee.

Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman (D-Conn.), chairman of the Senate Governmental Affairs Committee, subpoenaed the information as part of an ongoing investigation. He imposed a deadline after the White House said it would only allow the committee to look at the information but not have copies.
