TUESDAY, JUNE 11, 2002 Alaska Natives this weekend celebrated the return of a traditional rattle. The Raven rattle, or Yeil Sheishoox, dates to the 1800s and was repatriated to the Central Council of Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes. The item was brought out during the Celebration 2002 festival in Juneau. The rattle was bought and sold over the years and finally recovered during an undercover sting. Despite apparent violations of law by one museum, no one was charged for selling the item. Get the Story:
