San Ildefonso Pueblo in New Mexico is working with local officials on a project that could help provide clean water for the region.

A collector well has been placed on Pueblo land. The wells aren't common in the state.

The project has cost $1 million, which was shared among the tribe and local governments. Testing of the water will continue before the Pueblo decides to continue.
