Nev. land bill excludes sacred site

TUESDAY, JUNE 25, 2002 A bill introduced by Nevada's senators to protect federal lands excludes an area considered sacred to the Paiutes. Paiute representatives lobbied Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) to protect lands that includes historic petroglyphs and medicinal plants. Reid responded and said there are some sacred areas his bill covers. Get the Story:
