Obituary: Founder of theme village

FRIDAY, JUNE 28, 2002 Bill Hewitt, the founder of a Indian-themed tourist attraction died in Washington on Monday at the age of 85. Hewitt was not Native but his love of Indian cultures led to the creation of Tillicum Village in 1962. The village featured a longhouse restaurant and cultural dances. Numerous dignitaries visited the village, including President Bill Clinton and King Olaf V of Norway. Get the Story:
