Nipmuc public comment period extended

The public has until October 1 to comment on the federal recognition petitions of two Nipmuc tribes in Massachusetts.

Both tribes were turned down by Assistant Secretary Neal McCaleb last September. In the case of the Nipmuc Nation, McCaleb reversed a decision by the Clinton administration.
