Rural Alaska schools deemed failing

Rural schools in Alaska can be forced under President Bush's education reform act to transport students from rural villages to far away schools.

The Department of Education placed 13 rural Alaska on its failing list. The move allows students to attend another school of their choosing, within the same district, at the failing school's cost.
