Tribal college student pleads guilty

A student at SiTanka Huron University in South Dakota pleaded guilty on Thursday to intentional exposure of HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.

Nikko Briteramos, a non-Indian athlete, is the first person charged under state law of intentional exposure. He had originally pleaded innocent.

SiTanka Huron University is owned by the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe. The school is an off-reservation campus.
