Cases thrown out without Navajo interpreter

Navajo interpreters must be available to help Navajo-speakers during jury selections, the New Mexico Supreme Court ruled on Tuesday.

The court in a unanimous decision said potential jurors who need translation services cannot be excluded only because they speak Navajo. The ruling throws out two cases in two counties.
