"Keith Burris' July 21 commentary concludes that U.S. Sen. John McCain should start a third party to “break with the dominant interest to articulate the public good.” Mr. Burris is perhaps unfamiliar with the massive loophole in the McCain-Feingold campaign reform bill.

I, too, was a fan of Sen. McCain until I found out about this loophole, that the senator and the other framers of the bill were fully aware of the loophole, and that Sen. McCain receives more money from tribes and tribal interests than any other politician in this country. . ."
