The Bureau of Land Management is holding a public meeting on Friday to discuss progress on a plan to save the shrinking Walker Lake in Nevada.

The Walker Lake Paiute Tribe is one of several groups affected. The BLM hopes to finalize its draft environmental impact statement by August.

The tribe has pending litigation over the allocation of water for the lake.
