FRIDAY, JULY 26, 2002 The American Civil Liberties Union has filed two lawsuits on behalf of members of the Yankton Sioux Tribe that allege discrimination at a school near the South Dakota reservation. The first says Native voting rights are being infringed by the Wagner school board. Board members are chosen at-large rather than by district. The second, filed yesterday, says the school created an unsafe environment for Native students by allowing police dugs to sniff for drugs. The suit demands and end to the practice and damages.
