Grant awarded for Okla. Indian exhibit

FRIDAY, AUGUST 9, 2002 The National Endowment for the Humanities has awarded a $250,000 grant to the Oklahoma Historical Society for an exhibit on Oklahoma's American Indians. "We Are Who We Were" focuses on various aspects of Indian culture, including language, religion, history and present-day experiences. It features a permanent component that is under construction, a traveling exhibit and an educational program. The permanent History Center is set to open in 2004. Get the Story:
