"he Three Affiliated Tribes' request to conduct gaming on Lake Sakakawea in western North Dakota was turned down by the state. One of the reasons for the denial, Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem said, is that the lake is outside the boundaries of the reservation.

Perhaps conducting gaming on Lake Sakakawea is not a good idea, but diminishing the reservation and taking ownership of the lake is wrong. . ."
