Idaho tribes pleased with tax ruling

TUESDAY, AUGUST 20, 2002 Idaho tribes are welcoming a federal judge's decision to strike down a tax on the sale of gasoline. An attorney for the Nez Perce Tribe said the ruling affirms tribal sovereignty. The tribe was one of three that challenged a state law forcing tribes to pay remit 25-cent-per-gallon tax to the state.
