TUESDAY, AUGUST 20, 2002 North Dakota Native Americans have the lowest income in the state, according to Census Bureau figures. The median household income for American Indians and Alaska Natives was $21,995. Native Americans make up 5 percent of the state's population, the second highest racial or ethnic group.
