A Democratic candidate for governor of Nebraska wants to solve liquor use problems in the border town of Whiteclay.

Stormy Dean said he wants to bring tribes, local and state officials together to discuss the issue. Four liquor establishments cater to a large Indian customer base from the nearby Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota.

Dean said current Gov. Mike Johanns hasn't done enough to address concerns that liquor laws are being violated.
