Native corporation to distribute $200 000

MONDAY, AUGUST 26, 2002 An Alaska Native village corporation is distributing $200,000 to 147 shareholders. The money comes from the sale of 77,000 acres of land owned by Akhiok Kaguyak Inc. The land was sold to the Exxon Valdez Trustee Council in 1995. The money has caused division among shareholders, who are of Alutiiq descent. Get the Story:
