"On reservations, there are men and women who are unsung heroes. That will change for John Eagle Shield. He will be recognized by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in September for his work as director of the Community Health Representatives Program on the Standing Rock reservation, Fort Yates, N.D. He is one of 10 people nationally who will be awarded $120,000 - $105,000 for his program and $15,000 for his personal use. . ."
