Nebraska Gov. Mike Johanns (R) opposes expanded gaming in the state. But if casinos were authorized, he said he's support sharing some of the revenue with teachers.

Stormy Dean, his Democrat opponent, accused Johanns of making his statement to gain curry with teachers. The Nebraska State Education Association, however, said Johanns' views on gaming wouldn't sway a possible endorsement.

Tribes in the state want to open casinos but have ran into opposition from politicians. Business owners are trying to legalize video slot machines.
