FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2002 California tribes are upset with the way the state will collect its share of casino revenues. The state's gambling commission said the tribes must contribute based on the "net win." The net win is defined as the house win minus payouts to gamblers. The tribes wanted to subtract expenses from that amount. But the state refused to change the definition. Based on the definition, the state will collect about $80 million in the first year alone.
