A 2,800-mile cross-country run to raise awareness of tribal sovereignty begins today on the Quinault Reservation in Washington.

The Sovereignty Run is the brainchild of tribal leaders who are worried about the impact of recent Supreme Court decisions. The journey ends on the steps of the High Court on October 7.

The run will cross 12 states.
