New Mexico state funds are being used to prosecute a man convicted of murdering a Navajo woman.

According to The Farmington Daily-Times, $350,000 was used to prosecute Robert Ray Fry during a trial where he was found guilty of beating and stabbing Betty Lee, a Navajo mother, to death. He sits on death row for this conviction.

Now, a request for $235,000 to prosecute Fry in another murder case has been approved.

Fry also awaits trial for the death of Donald Tsosie, a Navajo man.
