A Minnesota non-profit organization is seeking $4.7 million in tobacco settlement funds to implement programs for those who want to quit.

The Minnesota Partnership for Action Against Tobacco wants to include at-risk populations, including American Indians. Indian teens and women have the highest smoking rates in the nation, according to federal statistics.

The funds have to be approved by the state attorney general.
